On Tuesday the 23rd, our students sat among a field of poppies for our school ANZAC Day service. School Captains Charlie and Jackson led the service giving a speech on the history of ANZAC Day. Jack read The Ode in front of the respectful crowd of students. Other students were involved in flag raising and video recording the service. Students stood for a moment of silence and during the playing of The Last Post and Rouse and joined in the singing of the National Anthem. The poppies had been created by students, many in remembrance of soldiers.
On ANZAC Day, among the rain, around 20 students gathered at the Willow Grove cenotaph for the Willow Grove service. School captains Charlie and Jackson laid a wreath on behalf of the school. Again, our students showed respect during the service. Also at the service were Trafalgar High School school captains, Kyan and Piper who are former Willow Grove students.
