Willow Grove Primary School is a small rural school catering for approximately 80 students from Foundation to Grade 6. Our school is proud to be an integral part of the Willow Grove and District community and is situated in the centre of the Willow Grove township, at the foothills of the Baw Baw Ranges. Our school overlooks the Blue Rock Dam and we are surrounded by the scenic and rich dairying and horticultural area of West Gippsland.
Our student population is drawn primarily from the township of Willow Grove and the surrounding towns of Hill End, Tanjil South, Westbury, Trafalgar East, Shady Creek, Fumina, Fumina South, Icy Creek and Vesper. A bus service operates each day transporting students from these outlying towns.
Our vision at Willow Grove Primary School is widely shared and provides a sense of direction for our school community.
“At Willow Grove Primary School, we are community of happy, healthy and resilient learners. We embrace challenges in all that we do and have high expectations of ourselves and others.”
The expectations we have for all members of our community are aligned to our four core values: Respect, Resilience, Teamwork and Community. These values form our commitment to the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program and guide our daily actions and behaviours.
The school has a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy, whilst also offering integrated curriculum units based on the Victorian Curriculum. Students participate in specialist 1 hour weekly sessions in Physical Education, Visual Arts, Japanese and Literature and Library. We have an extensive range of opportunities for our students to be involved in a range of extra-curricular and sporting events.
